10 New Zealand Snaps that Top the Rest

It was New Zealand that inspired me to start taking photographs. Photos that I actually enjoy looking at and are worthy of framing.

I suppose the landscapes and scenery here make it fairly easy for amateurs like myself to capture so much beauty in one shot.

With that being said I’ve collated 10 pictures that I’ve taken over the past 18 months, all of them on my HX300 Camera.

1. Impressive street art to remember the oldest building in Hastings that was The Albert Hotel – Hawke’s Bay.

2. A summer’s afternoon walk along the black sand beach with a look out to Paritutu Rock – Taranaki, New Plymouth.

3. Two painters sat in front of a delightful backdrop as they portray the Red Rocks Reserve – Owhiro Bay, Wellington.

4. One of many forms of entertaining watersports taking part in the harbour – Wellington Waterfront.

5. New Zealand wouldn’t be the same without its coffee. And the infinite cafes in Wellington – Peoples Coffee in Newtown, Wellington.

6. On Sunday’s I take a stroll down to the Harbourside Market. When the sun’s shining it’s bliss to sit and listen to the live music – Wellington City.

7. Being a huge lover of sashimi I’ll never forget the alpine salmon from the shop at the viewing point – Lake Pukaki.

8. Lake Tekapo was mesmerizing, but so were the mountains in the distance – Mt John Observatory.

9. Getting around 9 vineyards in a day was a challenge in itself, but what a day Toast festival was – Martinborough.

10. The cozy little hub of Queenstown stole my heart, this takes me back to winter nights and snug bars selling hot toddies – Queenstown.

It’s not easy to sift out the highlights of travel in a new place, but if you had to choose what would be yours in New Zealand?
