Top 10 Wellington Snaps For The ‘Gram

Wellington is the perfect playground for a keen instagram’er. It really is the world’s coolest little capital and not just because of those Southerly breezes! Every nook and cranny of the city is bursting with creative flair and vigour, and who wouldn’t want to capture this – let alone share these snippets of visual delight – from brunches to boast about, graffiti to gape over, wise and wonderful writers walk plaques to read, to scenic beauty that really can take your breath away (literally and figuratively in the case of Mt Vic).

Here are my top ten most instagram’able snaps the city has to offer, in no particular order:

1. The boat sheds at Oriental Bay

2. The Solace of the Wind Sculpture on the harbour

3. Graffiti, graffiti, and more graffiti, anywhere and everywhere

4. The Wellington Cable Car off Lambton Quay

5. The Wellywood sign by Wellington Airport

6. The Writers Walk concrete words of wisdom along the Waterfront

7. The view from Mount Victoria

8. The Beehive, more formally known as the Executive Wing of the Parliament buildings in Thorndon

9. The Botanic Garden, in any season, in Kelburn

10. The Ekim burger van at the top of Cuba Street (even if purely an excuse to sample its produce…)

These are just ten of the many opportunities to gain some credible likes and potential new followers that Wellington has to offer. Part of the Wellingtonian adventure is to seek out your own snaps and use your own vision to flood your feed. Just whatever you do, make sure you choose the right filter.
