Firstly I should apologise for my lack of blogging over the past two weeks. If you follow me on Instagram you’d have known that I’ve been lounging on white sandy beaches drinking gin cocktails in Meedhupparu, an island east of the northern Atoll in the Maldives.
I’d always thought my first trip to the Maldives would be for my honeymoon as many 20-something’s would probably agree, right girls? But as Brits living abroad in New Zealand, it became apparent that this was the perfect meeting point for a holiday with family living in the UK.
This July we took our first trip to paradise, to one of the 1,192 coral islands which are grouped together to make 26 Atolls.
There was no shock factor as we floated through the sky in the seaplane passing hundreds of turquoise coral reefs. The scenes were a replica to the unfiltered photos I’d been browsing for months prior on Tripadvisor.
From the 30 hour journey it took to get there to dinner at the water villa restaurant, here’s a timeline of our trip through Insta’ stories
Stay tuned for some more fun in the sun posts. Next Monday’s will be based on the resort we stayed at with plenty more photos!
